## Honest note on the range

Jansno is the budget end of this site and competes on battery capacity for the money: 1,200 Wh at £799 and 1,776 Wh at £1,099, the largest pack we track. The single most important correction to make about this brand is the sensor. Every Jansno product page advertises a torque sensor; Jansno confirmed to us in writing on 10 and 11 September 2026 that the whole range uses a PAS cadence sensor instead, so 0 of 5 are recorded here with one. Assistance therefore arrives when the pedals turn rather than scaling to effort — most noticeable pulling away from a standstill on a bike of 39-45 kg. Only 1 of 5 has hydraulic disc brakes; the rest stop on cable-pulled mechanical discs.

## UK road legality

To be ridden as an ordinary bicycle on a public road or cycle path in Great Britain, an eBike must meet the Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) rules: working pedals, a maximum continuous rated motor output of 250 W, and no motor propulsion above 15.5 mph (25 km/h). A throttle, if fitted, can need separate type-approval. This is Great Britain guidance; Northern Ireland publishes separate rules not covered here.

Read this range carefully. Four of the five advertise a top speed of 45 km/h, roughly 28 mph, against the 25 km/h ceiling; the X70 publishes a 750 W continuous rating and the X50 is sold with a 750 W option. The X80 and X80 Pro publish no continuous rating at all, only a 1000 W peak figure, so neither can be placed either way. Only the X90, at 250 W rated and 25 km/h, is published entirely inside the ceiling. These are manufacturer figures, not independent tests, and a UK-specific configuration can differ from a global spec sheet — ask Jansno what the bike you are ordering is limited to before assuming it can be ridden as an ordinary bicycle.
