Is a step-through eBike weaker than a high-step one?
Not in any way you would feel on the road. A step-through frame drops or removes the top tube, which on a plain bicycle cost some stiffness; an eBike frame carries a battery and a motor mount and is built heavier for it, so the difference is engineered out. What changes is how you get on: no leg swing over the saddle, which matters with panniers, a child seat or a stiff hip. Are step-through eBikes only for older riders?
