Integrated location features may help locate a bike or notify you of movement, but capabilities, mobile coverage, battery dependence and subscription fees vary by brand. A tracker does not prevent theft or guarantee recovery, so physical locking and suitable insurance still matter. The bikes below are marked as GPS-equipped in our catalogue; check the manufacturer’s current app, connectivity, subscription and privacy terms before choosing one for security.

It gives you a location and, usually, a movement alert on your phone; recovery is then down to the police and how quickly you act. Coverage depends on the mobile network, and on some brands on a subscription after the first year. Treat it as a second lock, not a substitute for one.
A tracker draws far less than the motor, but it draws something, and a tracker on a flat battery cannot report. Some brands fit it with its own small cell and some run it from the main pack; the specification says which, and a bike left unused for weeks is worth charging for that reason alone. Their batteries run from 360 Wh to 922 Wh, with a median of 370 Wh.
